Salep Flavored Rice Pudding
Serves 4-6 – Preparation time: 25 min.
Ingredients
- 1/2 liter of milk
- 2 cups Sütdiyarı Salep (Milk Company Salep)
- 2 teacups of rice
- 1 liter of water
- 3 tablespoons rice flour
- 1-1.5 cups of powdered sugar (you can use 1 cup if you don’t prefer it too sweet)
- Cinnamon
Method
- To make rice pudding, first wash the rice and put it on the stove with water.
- Boil the rice until it expands and absorbs the water. Be careful not to burn the rice by keeping the stove at a high temperature.
- Then add cold milk. Stir 1-2 times and wait for it to boil.
- In the meantime, in a bowl, mix the rice flour with 1 cup of cold milk. Make sure there are no lumps.
- Take 1-2 ladles of boiling milk from the pot and add it to the bowl (the rice flour should be cooled).
- Add the rice flour and Sütdiyarı Salep to the pot, stir occasionally, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the powdered sugar, stir, and let it boil for another 1-2 times.
- Divide the rice pudding into bowls.
- When it cools down, you can serve the rice pudding with cinnamon sprinkled on top.
