Cheese pastries

Serves 4 – Preparation time: 45 min


For the dough (16 pieces): 

  • 125 g butter or margarine (room temperature)
  • 65 g vegetable oil
  • 65 g Sütdiyari Yogurt 3,5%
  • 1 egg (yolk and white separated)
  • 6 g baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • approx. 460 g flour

For the mixture:

  • 150 g Sütdiyari Piknik Ciftlik Peyniri 55%
  • 10 stems of fresh parsley

For the crust: 

  • Black cumin seeds



To make the dough, knead a mixture of butter or margarine, vegetable oil, yoghurt, egg white, baking soda and salt. Add some flour and keep kneading until the dough reaches a soft but not sticky consistency.

Combine the cheese and chopped parsley. Pinch little balls from the dough and roll them out in your palm. Put a pinch of the cheese mixture in the middle and fold it in. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle on top with black cumin seeds.

Bake in an oven pre-heated to 180 degree for approx. 30 minutes, until golden on top.
